He was born March 19, 1941 in Stella, Missouri the son of Cliss and Mavis (Townsend) Smith. On September 16, 1978 he was united in marriage to Frances Dishon, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Shane Eugene Smith of Pierce City, Missouri; one daughter, Amanda Morgan and her husband Mike of Marionville, Missouri; one sister, Peggie Kimbrough of Longview, Missouri and five grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Charles and one sister, Clisstine.
Harold received his education at Rocky Comfort, Missouri. For several years he resided in Pierce City, Missouri and moved to Purdy twenty-eight years ago. Most of his life was spent working for Lawrence County Road District, from which he retired.
His favorite pastime was coon hunting.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton, Missouri.
