(From Parker Mortuary)With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Darlene McMahan on April 17, 2023. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandma, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of so many people with her kind heart and gentle spirit. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed.
Darlene was born in Joplin, Missouri, on July 26, 1943, to Melvin and Lorene Lichlyter.
She moved to Diamond in 1976 and started a home daycare she ran for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Diamond, MO.
Darlene loved spending time with her great-grandchildren, going to garage sales and second-hand stores with friends, Seeing the St. Louis Cardinals play, and seeing her Sunday school class together every week. Her family will never forget her love for Sonic strawberry limeades, Elvis, and, most notably, that she always devoted her life to her family, putting the needs of others before her own.
Her children will deeply miss Darlene, Doug Dalgleish, Angie & Leslie Enlow, and Donna McMahan; Grandchildren, Chris & Jocelyn, Chad & Tiffany, Garret, Alix & Dalton, Brandon, and Sariya; Great-Grandchildren Kelly, Zeke, Kelsey, Jax, Lylah, Jonas, Lola, Viola, and Vincent, her siblings Phyllis, Paul, Jerry, and Gary along with countless other friends and family.
Darlene’s passing is a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment we have with our loved ones. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is now in the loving arms of our Creator, free from pain and suffering.
