Kevin Kloer

Kevin Patrick Kloer, 62, of Columbus KS died on April 16th, 2023 surrounded by his family at Oak Pointe Senior Living in Neosho, MO following a long illness. He was born October 21st, 1960 in Appleton City, MO the son of Dennis and Hazel Kloer of Scammon, KS. He was the youngest of six siblings. He attended Columbus Unified High School.

He was united in marriage with Teresa Marie Kloer (Schmidt) of Columbus, KS on March 13th, 1982 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon, KS.








After high school, he began traveling the states as a custom harvester. At a young age, he was taught the trade of carpentry by his father who ran a furniture repair business in Scammon, KS and his passion for that eventually led him back to carpentry work. He worked for a few construction companies throughout the years, but eventually followed through on his dream of owning and operating his own construction business. Kevin was most well-known for his craftmanship, art of trim carpentry and his quality in every project he did throughout his career. He lived his life to support his family, and would never miss an event for his children. He also loved attending his grandchildrens' events with his late spouse, Teresa. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and the annual pheasant hunt with his family in western Kansas. He was a friend to everyone he met and a faithful man. His grandchildren lovingly referred to him as “Papa”.

Kevin was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two sons; Shaun Kloer and wife, Lindsay (Webb City, MO), Derek Kloer and wife, April (Justin, TX), one daughter; Julie Irwin and husband, Danny (Pittsburg, KS). Eight grandchildren; Olivia Kloer age 12, Brooklyn Kloer age 10, Drew Kloer age 10, Grace Kloer age 6, Piper Kloer age 6, Brylie Irwin age 4, Reed Irwin age 8 months and Tripp Irwin age 8 months two brothers; Ron Kloer and wife Norma (Scammon, KS), Lee Kloer and wife Merle (Baudette, MN) and several nieces and nephews.

The parish rosary will be recited at 4:00pm on Sunday April 23rd at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 611 SE Ave, Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends and family from 4:30pm to 6:00pm after the rosary.








Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00am on Monday April 24th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 115 W Walnut St., Columbus, KS. with Father Jeremy Huser as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Scammon, KS.

Expression of sympathy may be made in form of memorials to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Columbus.

The Kloer family extends their appreciation for those who cared and prayed for Kevin. He will always be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need and the love he had for his family.
