Nancy Moss

Nancy Ann Moss was born in Miller, MO on November 10, 1928 to Willard and Hester (Hood) Poe. She died April 1, 2023 in Springfield, MO surrounded by family. Nancy married Charles Starbuck in 1944 during WW2 and from this union a daughter, Shirley Sue (Starbuck) Wood was born.

In 1950 Nancy married Glenn Moss and from this union daughter, Glenda Kaye (Moss) Cope was born. She was a hard worker and owned Greenfield Dry Cleaning Shop with husband Glenn. She later went to work and retired from the Missouri State Chest Hospital as a Housekeeping Supervisor. 








She went back to night school to finish her education and obtain her GED while working at the hospital, caring for her aging parents and raising a granddaughter. She loved to iron and did embroidery work when she was young. After retirement she enjoyed going to Senior Citizen dances with partner, Dwight Johnson. She spent her life caring for her family and was always there to help babysit her great-grandchildren. She took great joy in attending as many activities and events of her great grandchildren as she could. After a fall in late 2021 she decided it was time to move to a nursing home. She resided at James River Care Center till her death.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Hester (Hood)& Willard Poe, brother, Perry (Juanita) Poe, brother and sister in law, Clyde and Helen Moss, husband, Glenn Moss, son-in law, Greg Cope, grandson-in law Joe Creed and Love of her life, Dwight Johnson.

She is survived by daughters, Sue Wood (Jack) Springfield and Glenda Cope Greenfield. Seven grandchildren Melissa Creed, Jerri Todd, Gayle (Greg) Hoogstraet, Piper (Kent) Haworth, Nicole (Russell) Niehoff, Crystal (James) Woods, Katie Feeney, & Patrick (Lorie) Johnson. Fifteen great grandchildren, Calvin & Collin Todd, Gillian & Gina Hoogstraet, Andrew Burns, Erica Doty, Zane & Alex Haworth, Dwight Neihoff, Samantha Losack, Khlab Decker, Santana Smith, Savanah Bolin, Morgan Johnson, Payton Johnson. Thirteen great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.








Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home, North on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am at St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 with internment following at Sycamore Cemetery in Miller, MO.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue, or animal rescue charity of your choice.
