(From Ozark Funeral Home)Mr. Billy Guy Thornton, 70 of Anderson, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Fayetteville, AR after an illness.
Billy was born July 20, 1952 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Oliver Nash and Patsy Phine (Smith) Thornton. Billy grew up on the family farm in Carthage, Mississippi and later joined the United States Marine Corps in 1973.
On August 3, 1996 in Fulton, Mississippi he was united in marriage to Debra Ruth Pruett. He and his family moved to Anderson in 1997.
Billy worked many jobs during his life. Billy enjoyed watching New Orleans Saints football, wrestling, and loved bow hunting, taking over a hundred deer.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Bay and Raymond and a sister; Gennie.

Billy is survived by his wife; Debra of the home, six children Karna of Greenville N.C., Michelle of Raleigh, N.C., Patricia of Oxford, Miss, Stephan of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Tristan and Patrick of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother; Skeeter of Jackson, Miss and Annie Thornton of Brandon, Miss and five grandchildren as well as host of other family and friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Billy Guy Thornton will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 6:00 in the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Marilyn O’Brien officiating.
