(From Parker Mortuary)On April 16th, 2023, we lost our most caring and loving Sister, Mother, Mother-In-Law, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt and Great Aunt. Patricia (Patty) Rae Henry was born September 18th, 1937, in Hornet, Missouri, and graduated from Seneca High School. She retired from Household Finance as a loan officer in 2004.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents Gertrude and Boyd Mitchell of Hornet, Missouri, her husband Phillip (Phil) Henry of Joplin, Missouri, and her sister Jacquelyn Mitchell Krusemark of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Patty is survived by her brothers Ronald Mitchell (late wife Shirely) and Keith Mitchell (wife Joan). Sons Darron Locke (wife Vicki); Kevin Locke (wife Tania); Kurt Locke (wife Brenda) and her daughter, Jeta (Henry) Hall (husband Tré). Grandmother to 8 and great grandmother to 17 and a great-great grandmother to 3. A sister-in-law to 5; an aunt to 14. Her two dogs Tucker and Gunnar. Patty's family roots run very deep.
Through retirement Patty loved spending time with and caring for her children and grandchildren (just ask her grandson's about her world famous "toast"). When Patty wasn't with family or working in the yard (nobody disliked dead leaves more than Patty), she took long shopping trips with her daughter Jeta. Patty fondly remembered her vacations with her husband Phil. If there was a beach, they probably visited it and enjoyed the sun and fun as often as they could. Spunky and lively until the end, Patty was always up for a challenge. She touched all of our lives in so many ways. We hold the best of memories and will miss her every single day!
Please join the family for services at Forest Park Baptist Church, Joplin, MO, Saturday, April 22nd at 10am. Graveside services to follow at Osborne Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the Joplin Humane Society in her name, or may be entrusted to the mortuary.
