Mabel Ruth Hamburg, Skip as she was known to all who knew her, lost her battle with cancer and passed peacefully in her home in Monett on April 18, 2023. She was a loving grandmother, mother, aunt, sister, and wife.
Skip grew up one of seven girls in Des Moines, IA and left after graduating high school to join the Air Force.
We will always love you a bushel and a peck!!!
Memorial services with military honors for Skip will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations have been suggested to the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.

Skip grew up one of seven girls in Des Moines, IA and left after graduating high school to join the Air Force.
In the Air Force she met her husband Tom and married in San Antonio TX, and celebrated her 50th anniversary last June. With Tom, she had three wonderful children.
She traveled the country with her family, finally ending up in Monett. There she enjoyed her work at the hospital for over 25 years and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Nothing gave her more pleasure than beating her children and grandchildren in card games.
She is survived by her husband Tom, sons Todd Hamburg and wife Chrissy from Las Vegas, NV, Tim Hamburg and wife Karrie of Nixa, Mo, and daughter Jennifer Hamburg and partner Jan Overton of Monett, granddaughters Sydnie and Samantha of Nixa, MO; two sisters, Debbie Carr of Sarcoxie, MO and Linda Wright of Des Moines; and countless nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Winnie Hartman, sisters Mary, Ona, Thelma, and Nancy and her best buddies Harley and Summit.
