Cheryle Howard

Cheryle Inez Howard, age 58, of Joplin, died on Friday, April 21, 2023 at her home after a three-month battle with cancer.

Cheryle was born May 7, 1964 in Joplin, daughter of the late JoAnn (Long) Clemmons and Richard Clemmons of Joplin.

Cheryle married Chris Howard on August 15th, 1986 and was blessed with three children, Robbie Howard, Stephanie Howard, and Christopher Howard.

 

She graduated from Memorial High School in 1982 and worked for many years as co-owner and manager of Cartronics of Joplin. She was also an assistant manager of McDonalds on Hwy 43 in Joplin, and worked for the AT&T Call Center of Joplin before retiring.

Cheryle and her husband Chris were long time members of the Kansas City BBQ Society where they had competed, and she was a certified KCBS Judge for many years.

In addition to her mother, Cheryle was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dickie” Clemmons.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Howard of Joplin; children, Robbie, Stephanie, and Christopher Howard; father, Richard and wife Dee; stepsisters, Jan West and Tronda Daniels, and a stepbrother, Joey Patterson; cousins, Sonny Grey, Bobby Clemmons, and Brenda Clemmons Caylor; Uncle Big Bob; and many friends and her special companions, Thor, Freya, Hela, Gertie, and Hairball aka Roxie.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023 at Parker Mortuary from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27th, 2023 at Parker Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Jones, Tim Jones, Chuck Horner, Shawn Horner, David Horner, and Sunny Gray serving as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
