(From Simpson Funeral Home)Carl Dale Gilliam, age 90 of Webb City, passed away on April 24, 2023 at Webb City Health and Rehab. He was born on February 8, 1933 to Homer and Hazel (Hawkins) Gilliam in Merritt, Missouri.
Carl was a 1951 graduate of Webb City High School. He was married to Martha (Durham) on May 20, 1956 in Webb City. Together, the couple had four children whom they loved. He worked at Southwestern Bell as an engineer until his retirement in 1986.
He was an avid gardener in his younger years. He served his country faithfully in the Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Hazel; his loving wife Martha Sue who passed away on July 12, 2022; his three siblings Marvin Gilliam, Merlene Hartley, and Howard Gilliam. He is survived by son Curtis Gilliam and wife, Lana of Branson, Missouri; daughter Lorie Cobble and husband, Randy of Webb City, Missouri; son Craig Gilliam and wife, Peggy of Webb City, Missouri; and son Chris Gilliam of Webb City. Carl is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 1pm on Thursday, April 27th at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Greg Gilliam presiding.
