(From Parker Mortuary)Joyce Irene Stark, age 74, Joplin, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
Joyce was born June 1, 1948 in Kansas City, Kansas, daughter of the late Donald Wayne Goff and Rose Irene (Sullivan) Goff. She grew up in Shawnee Mission, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. She moved to Joplin in the early 1970’s and worked several jobs including cashier at Wal Mart, cook with the Joplin
R-VIII School District, and several years at St. John’s Hospital as a ward clerk.
Her main job was being a wife and mother. She loved taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Rusty Stark who passed in 1985, and a brother, Philip Goff.
Survivors include her husband of over 50 years, Glenn A. Stark; sons, Rick Alan Stark and wife Karol of Eunice, Missouri, and Jason Wade Stark and wife Krista of Webb City, MO; grandchildren, Nickolas Stark of Columbia, MO, Reannon Stark, James Stark, and Jadeyn Stark all of Webb City; a great-grandchild, Mykah Stark of Webb City; a brother, Ronald Goff and wife Ruthe of Lawrence, KS; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Parker Mortuary Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
