David Workizer

David Burgess Workizer, age 74 of Ozark, joined his Lord and Savior on April 16th, 2023. He was born May 10th, 1948 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Arnold and Marjorie (Prince) Workizer.

On March 29, 1968 he was united in marriage to Peggy (Steverson).

He was a 1966 graduate of Carthage High School and a 1972 graduate of Pittsburg State University.








Dave spent the last 40 years running his own business with his wife. His oldest son and daughter both joined the family business, while his youngest son pursued a career in information technology.

Dave took great pride in his children and the community. He was a member of the Ozark School Board from 1987 to 1999. He served as President of the Missouri State School Board Association from 1996 - 1997. He was also a past President of the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club.

In his younger years he loved to boat and water ski. He devoted many years coaching his children in youth sports and then watching his grandchildren play. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan.






 

Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Peggy Workizer; son Randy Workizer, daughter-in-law Tina, grandkids Megan and Davin of Ozark; son Chad Workizer, daughter-in-law Michele, grandkids Natalie, Kylie, and Audrey of Overland Park, KS; daughter Robyn Cole, son-in-law Brandon, grandkids Austin and Hailey of Ozark; brother Dale Workizer of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 6 - 8 pm at Southside Church of Christ, Ozark. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Friday, April 21 at Southside Church of Christ, Ozark, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Phil Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark.
