Steven Madden

(From Lakin Funeral Home)

Steven Eugene Madden passed away on April 11, 2023, at his home in Stark City, MO. He was born In Washington, Indiana on September 13, 1952, to Dolores Mae (Auberry) and Tom Eugene Madden. His parents were there to greet him at Heaven’s Gate along with his older sister, Sharon Lucille Madden. and his aunt, Kate.

Steven was a man of many talents. His family relocated to California by the time he was six years old where he began to learn the trade of plumbing.

Steven could fix just about anything because he was always willing to give it a try. He was also a very good musician. He could pick a banjo or a Dobro like nobody’s business and play any song he wanted to play. He once saved the life of his oldest sister without any need for acknowledgement at all. Because of his bravery in doing that, he saved the lives of two other humans who were able to thrive and enjoy life because of him.

Steven always did what was right and what needed to be done. He always stuck to the truth and never lied to anyone. His honesty, at times, and his stubbornness could get him in trouble; however, he was still always honest. Whether you liked it or not, if you were having a difficult time with something, he would tell you to go take a big dump and crap out your head because it was too far up your rear, and you couldn’t see straight. Steven was a very good plumber. He plumbed over 50 years and served in Lawrence, Barry, and Newton counties. He was the owner of All Purpose Plumbing.

Steven leaves behind a niece, Gina Perez; a nephew, Robbie Eccles; a sister, Sandra Garcia; a nephew, Joey Garcia; a younger sister, Linda Tiesel and her husband, Norman; and a nephew, Matthew Tiesel. He also leaves behind Autumn and Jimmy McAnally and their two girls, Savannah and Eva, who blessed him with great love and great care at the end of his life. For that, his family is forever grateful.

There will be a private burial. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
