(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Sandra Jean Lovett (Smith), age 63, of Joplin, joined her loving husband in the eternal afterlife Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after a prolonged illness.
Sandy was born June 8th, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana at St.Vincent’s Hospital.
Sandy was the Grant Writer at Missouri Southern State University, until she retired in 2017. Along with her work in Education and Community Support Programs, she was also an enthusiastic real estate agent for more than a decade. Sandy was a proponent of many community programs and was particularly fond of the Stars of Hope nonprofit organization.
Sandy married Donald ‘Don’ Edward Lovett on August 11, 1984 in Santa Ana, California. Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 34 years.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Smith, her mother, Donna McClelland, baby sister, Victoria Harlan, and beautiful granddaughters, Brylee Marilyn-Jean Sparlin and Jessica Batie.
Sandy is survived by her children, Jamie Engh-Sparlin and husband, Adam, of Joplin, Bobby Lovett and wife, Krystal, of Brighton, Illinois; siblings, Pamela ‘Pam’ Olin and husband, Bob, of Fishers, Indiana, Deborah ‘Debby’ Jones and husband, Jerry, of Warsaw, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Anabelle, Mason, Brooks, Opal, Ruby, Landon, Dylan, Marika and Sadie.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Carl Junction Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
