Jim Yetter

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Jim Yetter, born on October 26, 1938, in Neosho, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on November 13, 2024, at the age of 86. Jim was one of nine children born to Harland Jackson and Goldie Marie (Slaughter) Yetter. He graduated from Neosho High School with the Class of 1957 and proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1962.

In the early 1960s, Jim moved to Alaska, where he built apartment complexes, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and skill.

Later, he returned to Missouri, purchasing a farm where he raised cattle for many years. His talents didn’t stop there—Jim began refurbishing furniture and selling it at Canton, Texas, and later turned his hand to building houses on his property, an endeavor that brought him great satisfaction. Known for his love of auctions, Jim was a collector at heart. If something wasn’t working quite right, he believed it could be fixed, bringing home countless treasures that sparked joy and stories.

In 1971, Jim married Sharon Kay Lundblad, embracing two wonderful stepdaughters, Anita and Brenda, and welcoming his youngest daughter, Jamie, in 1978. A devoted and supportive father, Jim cared deeply for his daughters and was there for them whenever they needed him. He was a man of faith, grounded in his Baptist beliefs.

Jim is survived by his three daughters, Anita Lundblad of Neosho, Brenda Sturm and her husband, William, of Neosho, and Jamie Yetter of Carl Junction; his beloved grandchildren, Marcus Ross, Brandon Ross, Kaitlynn Ambriz, and Tyler Standley; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Hignite of Neosho and Linda Baker of Carl Junction. He shared a special bond with his great-great-niece, Twyla, and is remembered fondly by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

Jim’s legacy lives on in his family and the lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and the treasures he shared along the way. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho, Missouri on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1pm. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho, Missouri. Interment will follow at Belfast Cemetery in Neosho, Missouri.
