Joe Andrews

Joe Edson Andrews was born on January 7, 1951, in Valentine, Nebraska, one of six children to Joseph and Wilma (Gale) Andrews. He entered into rest on November 12, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 73, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Joe graduated from Rock County High School in Bassett, Nebraska and then from the University of Nebraska with a degree in agriculture economics.

He resided in Nebraska, where he owned and operated a cattle ranch in Rock County, Nebraska, until moving to the southwest Missouri area in the fall of 2010 from Rock County, Nebraska. In addition to ranching, he worked as an enumerator for the USDA.

 

He enjoyed gardening, working on his ranch, cattle and in general, enjoyed ranch life. On January 27, 1996, in Deadwood, South Dakota, Joe and Karen L. (Wetzel) were united in marriage and Karen survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Jody Hagerty of North Liberty, Iowa, Marie Corral of Mesa, Arizona and Angela Townsend and husband, Eric, of Mesa, Arizona; one grandson, Brody Hagerty; his parents, Joe and Wilma Andrews of Bassett, Nebraska; his siblings, Terry Andrews of Erickson, Nebraska, Debra Vonheeder of Ainsworth, Nebraska, Kristi Thornberg of Bassett, Nebraska, Becky Lucht of Ainsworth, Nebraska, Sheri Gann of Ainsworth, Nebraska and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
