(From Midland Cremation Society)Daniel P Campbell passed away at home on the evening of June 6, 2026 from an illness caused by asbestos exposure during his military service. Dan was born in Kansas City, KS on April 2, 1953 to Roy and June Campbell who proceeded him in death. He graduated from Paola, Kansas, class of 1971.
He joined the US Navy and was in the Submarine Service for 12 years. He was a Chief Machinist Mate, E-7 (ChiefPettyOfficer) when he was honorably discharged in 1983. He later moved to Carl Junction, MO and was employed by Modine Mfg. for 26 years where he worked as a welder, before progressing to their A maintenance man and concluded his years there as a Tool and Die Maker.
Dan married Mary Young on August 18 , 2001. He was loved by many, especially his grandmother Mildred Campbell.
Dan enjoyed traveling the US with his wife on his Harley Davidson, blues music, New Orleans and a particular condominium (C407) in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Dan is survived by his wife Mary of the home, Quapaw, OK, brothers Randy Campbell, (spouse Patricia) Poplar Bluff, MO, Todd Campbell, (spouse Terry)Tulsa Ok and a sister, Debi Kenemore, Poplar Bluff, MO, 2 children from his previous marriage, son, Danny Campbell,( wife Laura and grandchildren Emilia and Boston) daughter Sandy Knowlton, (grandsons Peyton and Zachary Loveall and 1 Great granddaughter, Autumn Loveall)all from Joplin, Mo. He also has 2 stepdaughters Ann Reyna, (granddaughters Adriana Nicole and Joselyn who says Grandpa is her best friend), Joplin, Mo. Jennifer Van Dyke (husband Bryan and grandaughters Katelyn and Emily)Mt.Zion, Illinois and 1 step son, Wayne Walker who proceeded him in death from cancer.
Dan is in the care of Midland Cremation Society in Joplin,MO.
