(From McQueen Funeral Home)Shirley Jean Tichenor, age 76, of Wheaton, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born January 15, 1950 the daughter of Clifford and Bernice (Bergman) Wogoman. On April 4, 1969 she was united in marriage to Charles Tichenor, who survives. Also surviving are her son, Tony Tichenor and his wife Misty of Wheaton and niece, Ramona George and her husband John of Rogersville.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Gary Wogoman, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bob Golubski and nephew, Craig Golubski.
Shirley was raised on Shoal Creek in Wheaton and graduated from Wheaton High School. She was a homemaker and loved caring for her family and home. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, embroidery, quilting, gardening, and tending to her flowers.
In the 1970s, she owned and operated Wheaton Floral. After the family moved to Alaska, they had many grand adventures and a lifetime of stories. She never met a stranger and enjoyed working local elections. To know her was to love her, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of being a part of her life.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
