Garry Steven Long, age 68 of Carthage, passed away at 2:49 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital.
Born December 20, 1946 in Reeds, MO, he was the son of the late Earl Long and Dalana Pippin Long, and attended Sarcoxie schools. He lived in the four-state area most of his lifetime. Garry worked in Asphalt all of his working years and he owned and operated LoneStar Roadbuilders. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. His main focus was on work and family and he particularly loved going to Grand Lake, boating with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn N. Warren Long; many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Michael Long and wife Barbara, Harold Long and wife Carolyn, all of Sarcoxie; his sister, Linda Sloniker of Avilla, MO; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 pm on Thursday Nov. 12th at the mortuary. Interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
