Roger Leaming

Roger Lee Leaming, 79, passed away November 11, 2015 in Carthage, MO, 

Roger was born March 6, 1936 in Eastern Jasper County to Lester Leaming and Lena (Rayl) Leaming. Roger was a lifetime Jasper County resident graduating Jasper High School class of 1954. He worked for Cold Storage then Schreiber Foods for 25 years, Leggett and Platt for three years and Carthage Special Road District. Roger was a member of the Victory Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir. Roger was a great gardener and took great pride in keeping his yard well taken care of. 

Roger was united in marriage to Ella Marie Sunderland October 2, 1953 in rural Jasper, MO they were married for 62 years, she survives. He loved to travel and had taken seven cruises, traveled to the lower 48 states, Alaska, Hawaii and several European countries. Roger was survived by one son Steve Leaming and wife Tanya of Overland Park, KS, and their two children Brendan (Kristen) Leaming of Olathe, KS and Ashton (Josh) Fink of Olathe, KS, two daughters Sandy Fagg and husband Richard of Bella Vista, AR. And their two children Sara Baker (Jon) and Monica Roberts (Ben) both of Bella Vista, AR. Cheryl Stump and husband Larry and their children Aaron Stump (Tabetha) of Bella Vista, AR, and Rachel Stump of Jasper, MO, One daughter Cindy Leaming Evans preceded in death August 21, 1997 her children Heather Evans Buss (Chris) of Olathe, KS, and Matt Evans of Jasper, MO. One sister Linda Schanfarber (Jim) of Springfield, and two brothers Don Leaming (Catherine) of Jasper and Charley Leaming (Olivia) of Jasper. Eight that call us “Grandparents” Anastiza, Wren, Ariel, Jason, Jennifer, Darren, Andy, Bethany, six great grandchildren Teagan, Tanen, Drew, Laney, Noah and Marshall. And several cousins and their families. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, and one brother Harold Leaming July of 2006. 

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 14, 2015 at Grand Avenue Church of God, burial will be at Hackney Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
