Marian Abrams

Marian Ruth Abrams, 67, of Carthage passed away Friday November 6, 2015 at Freeman West in Joplin. Marian was born April 3, 1948 in Arkansas City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Thomas Duane Moore and Loveta “McFarland” Moore. Marian lived in Mt. Vernon, Forsyth, and Columbia and has been a resident of Carthage since 1994. She owned and operated Marian’s Day Care in Columbia while attending M.U. to obtain her masters in library science. Marian was a High School Librarian in Diamond and Neosho High Schools, retiring from Neosho High School and she was a homemaker. She also was a Master Gardner and Master Naturalist. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Carthage.

Marian was united in marriage to Benyamin Abrams on April 10, 1998 in Carthage the marriage was later sealed in the St. Louis Temple. She and her husband served 3 years in the Oklahoma City Temple and 2 years in the Kansas City Temple as Ordinance Workers. He survives.

Other survivors include three sons; Andrew Jones of Cook Minnesota, Aaron Jones of Greenfield, MO and Austin Jones of Joplin, MO, one daughter Audrea Barker of Carthage, one brother Randall Moore of Hot Springs, AR and one sister Barbara Day of Florida, 9 Grandchildren and Aunt and Uncle Dorothy and Howard Kivitt .

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Carthage. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Missouri National Cemetery in Springfield, MO. Contributions may be made to Freeman Heart Institute in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
