Marcella R. Dickson, 90, of Carthage passed away at 9:33 p.m. Friday November 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Marcella was born June 2, 1925 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Martin V. Farris and Bessie A. “Scott” Farris. Marcella was a domestic housekeeper and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Joplin.
Marcella is survived by two sons: Oliver D. Dickson of Carthage and Mack C. Dickson of Kansas City, Missouri, two daughters: Diane F. Dickson of Plano, Texas and Charlene Dickson Jackson of Springfield, Virginia. Twelve grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Marcella was preceded by three sons, Harry M. Dickson July 3, 1967, Howard E. Dickson September 26, 2008 and Curtis W. Dickson January 25, 2010.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
