Maycie Gebhardt

Maycle Gebhardt, 95, of Mulberry, passed away at 2:25 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015. 

She was born October 9, 1920, at Emporia, KS, the daughter of Albert B. and Marian F. (First) Gilyeat. On December 5, 1942, she was united in marriage to Frederick J. "Ted" Gebhardt at Louisville, KY. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1999. Together they owned and operated Gebhardt Chicken Dinners since 1946. Membership was held in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved tap and ballet and even had a chance to be a part of the Rockettes. 

Mrs. Gebhardt is survived by one son, Fred (Pam) Gebhardt of Pittsburg, two daughters, Meg Gebhardt of Mulberry and Peggy (John) Webb of Joplin, MO, two grandchildren, Alex Spigarelli and Craig White, and one great-grandchild, Jessica Webb. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Teresa Waterman, one brother, Waldalee Gilyeat and one granddaughter, Mandy Ross. 

Con-celebrated Mass of Christian Burial is set for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac, with Father Larry Parker and Father Thomas Stroot as celebrants. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at the Church. Friends may call at the Brenner Mortuary to sign the register book after 12:00 p.m., Monday. The family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and/or Pawprints on the Heartland. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
