Robert Pence

Robert E. Pence, age 72, of Joplin passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin. 

He was born on October 4, 1943 in Carterville, Missouri to Perly Pence and Flora (Dills) Pence. Robert was retired from the maintenance department at Schreiber Foods, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Webb City. He loved his Webb City Cardinals, Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

Robert married Bernita (Degraffenreid) Pence on July 24, 1965 in Webb City and she survives at their home. He is also survived by his two sons, Brian Pence and wife Carrie of Webb City, Shane Pence and wife Darci of Joplin; one daughter, Kristi Rogers and husband Richard of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Kyle and Travis Armitage, Nate Rogers, and Anna and Isaac Pence; one brother, Burnace Pence of Webb City; and 2 sisters, Sue Turner of Webb City and Carole Harding of Joplin. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Webb City with Reverend Ron Woody officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time at the church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Robert’s memory.
