Sofi Mikhail, 86, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at Sunnyhills Residential Care Facility, Carthage, MO. Ensaf “Sofi” Awad (Salama) Mikhail was born January 18, 1929 in Mit Ghmar, Egypt to the late Awad Salama and Fayka Abdelmalak. She studied home economics and was a homemaker. She married Maher Hanna Mikhail in 1947, which preceded her in death in 2001. She attended the Church of the Nazarene for the last 24 years and was an active member of the Homebuilder’s Sunday School Class. The family would like to thank Sunnyhills and Hospice Compassus, Lamar, MO, for their great care over the last 15 months.
Survivors include three sons; Mourad (wife Mona) Mikhail, Murietta, CA, Nagy (wife Mervat) Mikhail, Clearwater, FL and Hany (wife Donna) Mikhail, Joplin, MO; two sisters; Awatif Salama, Clearwater, FL, and Fouzia Sharkawi, Egypt; three brothers; Yousef (wife Vivian) Salama, Murietta, CA, Fouad (wife Gabby) Salama, Temecula, CA, and Magdy (wife Nagwa) Salama, Murietta, CA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Nazarene, Carthage, MO. Rev. Dustin Ledford and Fr. Kyrillos Makar will officiate.
