Judith Ann Hurt, 77, of Lamar, Missouri passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015, surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital in Joplin after an extended illness.
Judy was born August 30, 1938 in Springfield, Missouri to Verl and Anna Marie (Gammon) Wills. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Wills.
On August 26, 1956, in Greenfield, Missouri, Judy married Lyndell “Pete” Hurt and she was looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Before being confined to her wheelchair, Judy was an award winning cook, homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Judy was an active member of First Christian Church of Lamar where she was involved in many areas over the years. She was also a charter member of her beloved Chat and Chew Club.
Survivors include her husband, Lyndell, of the home; three children, Cindy (Michael) Jack of Joplin, Russ (Suzanne) Hurt of Lamar, and Beth (Harold) Shoff of Mt. Vernon; ten grandchildren, Chris, Jeff, Jeremiah, and Douglas Jack, Ryan and Chase Hurt, Brooke Gibson, Blake Westbrooke, Kyler and Kaden Shoff; twelve great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24th from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Daniel Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25th with Mike Gage officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Hurt, Chase Hurt, Kyler Shoff, Kaden Shoff, Allen Thieman, John Webb and Gary Jennings. Honorary pallbearers are Douglas Jack, Rocky Higgins, Kent Harris, Terry Kunstel, and Charlie Watts. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church Memorial Fund.
