Lena Mae “Moser” Swoveland, 89, entered into Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday November 22, 2015 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Lena was born July 13, 1926 in Stella, MO to George Moser and Beulah Winchester. Lena was a lifetime Jasper County resident and was the director of the Cerebral Palsy Center, Carthage, MO for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joplin, MO.
Lena was united in marriage to Denzil B. Swoveland July 9, 1947 in Carthage, MO, Denzeil preceded her in death April 29, 1995. Lena is survived by two daughters Lora Snyder and husband Neil of Joplin, MO, Jo Ann Evans and husband Bob of Carthage, MO, one son Denzil E. “Denny” Swoveland and wife Dee of Joplin, MO, one sister Charlotte Weston, of Rogers, AR., three grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Lena is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denzil Swoveland, one sister Kathleen Berry, two brothers Pete Moser and Clifford Moser, one grandchild R. Wade Utter, May 20, 2015.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home, Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Joplin, Building fund, or Samaritans Purse in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
