Richard Trowbridge

Richard H. Trowbridge, 85, Brooklyn Heights, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Carthage Health & Rehab Center, Carthage. Richard Homer Trowbridge was born November 29, 1929 in Wauneta, Nebraska, the eldest son of the late Glen Ellsworth Trowbridge and Nellie (Bell) Trowbridge. He married Martha Louise Achey on August 22, 1954 in Carthage, she survives. Richard was a graduate of Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis, MO and attended McPherson College, McPherson, KS fortwo years. He was a piano tuner, a carpenter for Hendrickson Construction, Carthage and was employed by the Envision, Pittsburg, Kansas. He was a member of the Community Fellowship Church Carterville, MO, Golden Oldies band, Tri-Statesmen Barbershop Chorus and the Missouri Friendship and Counsel for the Blind.

Additional survivors are three daughters; Cheryl Ann (Jessie) Carnes, Webb City, MO, Stella Louise Sterling, Nevada, MO and Martha Elizabeth Trowbridge, Carterville, MO; one son John Andrew (Colleen) Trowbridge, Ash Grove, MO; a sister, LaVera Ann Newman, Carthage; one brother, Ray Warner (Joan) Trowbridge, Brooklyn Heights, MO; seven grandchildren, Justin Carnes, Eric Yates, Kristi Caruthers, Keri Harrell, Andrew Trowbridge, Samantha Trowbridge and Timothy Trowbridge; three great grandchildren, Ethan Carnes, Kelsey Harrell and Trey Caruthers. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle Lee Trowbridge and Glen Eugene Trowbridge; one granddaughter, Katie Ann Trowbridge.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, November 17, at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday in the Knell Mortuary Chapel, Carthage. Pastor Dan King, Grace Communion International, will officiate. Interment will be in Curtiss Cemetery, West Gum Road, Carthage.
