Ann Creed

Mary Ann Creed, age 91, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her home with family at her side after a short illness.

Ann was born December 4, 1928 in Mount Vernon, Missouri, daughter of the late Roy Moore and Ethel Mullins Moore. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School, and then Springfield Business College in Springfield. 

She must have learned her work ethic early on from her parents, working on the family farm from age 10 milking the cows. She went to work for a local car dealership at the age of 15, and worked her entire life in bookkeeping with her husband in different lumber businesses. They lived in Mount Vernon, Sheldon, Carterville, and Emporia, Kansas before returning to Webb City. She also worked for many years with her son at Contract Machining and Manufacturing before retiring at age 82. 

Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to read, do embroidery, spend time with family, and follow the St. Louis Cardinals. She was also known for her large and well manicured gardens over the years. She enjoyed her friends and fellowship at Carterville First Baptist Church where she was a member. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, David Creed, who passed in 1995.

Survivors include her sons, Kenny Creed and wife Gail of Joplin, Mark Creed and wife Donna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Valerie Pruitt and husband Will of Springfield, Missouri, Travis Creed and wife Katie of Rogers, Arkansas, Seth Creed and wife Lauren of West Fork, Arkansas, Trena Durbin of Oklahoma City, Nathan Creed and wife Erica of Elkhart, Indiana, and Micah Creed and wife Samantha of Edmond, Oklahoma; 12 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Jenna, Aubrey, Barrett, Ethan, Eleanor, Caroline, Sebastian, Lily, Brady, Piper, and Jax.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darren Wallace and Rev. Scott Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the family will not have a formal visitation, but friends are invited to stop by the funeral home to see Ann and sign the book if not able to attend the service.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Carterville First Baptist Church.
