Bernice Pearl Bettes, age 86, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Mercy of Joplin.
Bernice was born May 31, 1934 in Udora, Iowa, daughter of the late Clarence Rickey and Josephine King Rickey. She worked for years as a waitress in the Joplin area, most of her time was at the Plaza Bowling Center, where she worked as a bartender and waitress for many years. She enjoyed watching westerns, Sunday drives, and going to the casinos.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Richard Bettes, who passed away on April 11, 1988, and a great-grandson, Phoenix Bettes.
Survivors include her children, Richard Bettes (Cindy Pendleton), Johnny Bettes (Lanae); grandchildren, Richard Bettes (Summer), Tabitha Bettes (David McLean), Shelby Gilstrap (Austin), and Shaley Bettes; great-grandchildren, Richard Phoenix Bettes, Johnnie Bettes, Ally Bettes, Dylan Shivley (Avery), Nathan Rickey II, Harper Lynn Gilstrap; great-great-grandchild, Gabe Bettes.
Graveside service will be Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
