Artie "Lucille" Boyd, age 78, Neosho, formerly of Webb City, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 in Joplin, Mo.
Lucy was born October 6, 1941 in Anderson, Mo. She was one of 15 children born to Henry "Preston" Reynolds and Dorothy Lucille Drake. Her childhood was spent with her family in McDonald County Missouri. During the summer she would travel with her family to work in the fields in Colorado. She was employed at Elders in Webb City and JC Penney. Her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother.
Family was of the utmost importance, she cherished every member and made lasting memories with her boys, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her great grandchildren. Being the daughter of a preacher and farmer, Lucy was a devout Christian. Her faith in God never wavered and she put everything in his hands. If you needed anything, she sent a prayer, or ten, up to the Lord and then would do whatever she could to help you.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband's, Teddy Ray Sarley and John Edward Smallwood, eight brothers, Jackie, Joe, Kenny, Everett, Herb, John and Henry, and two sisters, Nava Lee Reynolds, and Pearl Spence.
Surviving this wonderful woman are her husband, J.D. Boyd, children Allen Sarley and wife Darlene of Webb City, Eric Sarley of Neosho, grandchildren, Scott Sarley and wife Chaunda of Webb City, Amber Sarley and fiancé Hector Friely of Webb City, Katie Chester and husband Dalton of Neosho, and fourteen great grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored.
She is also survived by five sisters, Junie Lewis and husband Ted, Ella Mae Smith and husband Don, Ruthie Long, Jenie Baublitz and husband Perry and Joyce Malone and husband Jim.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July, 22, 2020 from 8am-4pm at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. A graveside service will be held July, 23, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Diamond Cemetery in Diamond, Mo with Logan Patrick officiating.
