Carla Rae Whitman, 63, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Carla was born February 20, 1957 in Kansas City, MO.
She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Carthage.
Carla was united in marriage to Donavan Whitman on September 9, 1988 in Miami, OK; he preceded her in death on January 14, 2020.
Carla is survived by her stepfather, Ralph Bailey of Ocala, FL; one son, Whit Whitman of Cornelius, NC; one daughter, Michelle Erwin (Mike) of Topeka, KS; one sister, Trudy Crowe (Bill) of Loma Linda, MO; four grandchildren, Levi (Katie) Prewitt, Jordan Messbarger, Noah Messbarger and Delaney Williams; two great grandchildren, Addy and Zoey Prewitt; one nephew, Kanton Zaerr (Hydee); one niece, Kandida Laarman; three great nephews, Kinnon, Kolter and Kane; two great neices, Karlan and Kyerson.
Carla was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emma Williams.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Park Cemetery in Carthage. In lieu of a visitation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
