Arbrady Hicks, Jr., age 75, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at National Health Care of Joplin.
Arbrady was born January 2, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Arbrady Hicks and Carrie Purifoy Hicks. He moved to the Joplin area in 1990, and has worked for Freeman Health Care in the maintenance department, North Middle School in maintenance, and owned and operated a detail shop in Joplin. Most recently he was working for Petro in sales.
Arbrady loved the outdoors, taking road trips and just spending time with his family and friends. In his younger years, he was active in Taekwondo and had a black belt in Karate. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arbrady is survived by his wife, Edith Hicks of Joplin; his children, Willard Gage, Starla Gage, Geneva Gage, and Jerelle Hicks (Jennifer); 15 grandchildren; sisters, Alicia Brewer (Tyrone), Medena Parks (Dominic); brother, Venerable Slater; his companion, Darlene Bryan; and several extended family members.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
