(From Knell Mortuary)Darrell “DW” Wade Richmond, 69, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Saturday September 4, 2021, at the Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
He was born on July 3, 1952, in Carthage, Missouri. DW lived in Sarcoxie with his parents Clyde (Virgil) and Lottie (Rush) Richmond.
He was a graduate from Carthage Senior High School, Class of 1970 and later attended Franklin Technical School of Joplin, Missouri.
He was employed with the Carthage R-9 school system until March of 1973, and Flex-o-lators, Inc of Carthage, Missouri which became a subsidiary of Leggett & Platt in 1995. He retired from Leggett & Platt, Inc in 1998 as a Quality Safety Analyst. He went to work at Falcon Foam, later a Division of Atlas Roofing, April 1998 as Quality Assurance and Safety Manager until May of 2001, then went to work at MCI World Com at Springfield, Missouri Customer Services and Sales in August of 2001. In 2002, he retired from working due to ill health which continuously plagued and later became totally disabled.
DW was a member of Carthage Nazarene Church of Carthage, Missouri, an Honorary Member of John Hagee Church of San Antonio, TX, a Salt Covenant Member of John Hagee Ministry, and a member of CUFI, Christian United for Israel, who helped by supporting planting Olive trees in Israel. He later became an Ordained Christian Minister on June 9, 2014, of the Christian National Church. Was an avid reader of John Spurgeon, His Sermons, Daily and Evening Devotionals.
Was a Master Mason of Fellowship Lodge Number 345, AF&AM, Joplin, Missouri as a lifetime member. Received a Certificate in Honor of his service of 25 years on October 15, 2005. Was raised as a Master Mason, Lodge No. 97 AF&AM; of Carthage, Missouri in September 1980. DW was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to camp outdoors in his younger years. He enjoyed gardening, planting, and caring for flowers. He enjoyed the birds and nature created by GOD.
He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by one brother Russell Richmond and his wife Ruby of Carthage. Nephew Darrell A. Richmond and wife Susan their children, Bailey, Elizabeth, Olivia, and Mary Grace. One Niece Rebecca (Richmond) Riley and husband Ben Riley, their children Matthew and Raecancia (Rae’) and several loving cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, burial will immediately follow in the Fasken Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
