Darrel Dean Blankenship, age 79, Joplin, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 at his home after an illness.
Darrel was born August 3, 1939 in El Dorado, Missouri and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
Darrel worked as a truck driver for Kelley Trucking, LLC and PFT Roberson, Inc. for many years. Darrel loved the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting. Darrel was a veteran of the United States Army.
He married Patricia Ann Blankenship on June 30, 2001 in Nevada. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2018.
Survivors include his children, Jaime Shaffer and husband, Steve, Carl Junction, Darrel James Blankenship and wife, Heather, Weston, Missouri, Darrel Blankenship and wife, Kim, Clinton, Missouri, Lisa Keith-Carter, Dearborn, Missouri, Becky Kennon, Kearney, Nebraska, Juble Blankenship and wife, Bobbi, Kansas City; step daughter, Angie G. Arnold, Freemont, Nebraska; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Darrel has been taken for cremation. No formal services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
