Ralph Gene Gunlock age 83 of Oronogo passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9, 1935 to Myrtle and James Casper Gunlock.
Ralph married Jane Harpole on December 23, 1954. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by stepfather, Joe Gillard and a stepsister, Lois Miller.
Ralph graduated from Alba High School. He worked at Shade Tree, Independence Power and Light, and retired from Empire District Electric in 1998. He was a 61-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
All of Ralph’s life he was a quiet supporter of anyone who needed help. He loved his horses and participated in many riding events at Civil War Arena in Carthage. A very proud moment in his life was being named Cowboy of the Year at the second annual Hope for Hailey event. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding, and solving the world’s problems at Quaker Mill. Best memories revolved around his children, grandchildren and great grand children, and all his extended family.
Ralph is survived by his son, Rick and wife Stormy Gunlock; daughter, Becky and husband Mark Yearington; grandchildren, Angela and husband Will Bollman, Jerad and wife Meggan Hall; great grandchildren, Tye, Cody, and Cooper Bollman, Liam, Gavin, Averie-Caroline and Amelia-Grace Hall. He is also survived by his brother, Junior Gunlock and step brothers, John, Jess, and Jim Gillard.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. The family will be present for visitation on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alba Christian Church, P.O. Box 266, Alba, MO. 64830 or Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Maintenance, 27910 Kafir Road, Carl Junction, MO. 64834.
