Charlotte “Evelyn” Lortz, 78, of Webb City passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Webb City Health & Rehabilitation after a long illness.
She was born on December 10, 1940 to Earl & Edith Benjamin in Joplin. Evelyn graduated from Joplin Schools in 1958. She was a homemaker and seamstress. She also worked alongside her husband delivering the Wise Buyer newspaper each week.
She married the love of her life, Merle L. Lortz, August 30, 1958. He preceded her in death in 2012. Evelyn is survived by a daughter, Tammy Anderson and husband, Chuck, of Webb City; a son, David Lortz and wife, Stacy, of Webb City; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lortz and a daughter, Terri Lortz.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow at Simpson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Webb City R7 Schools Foundation scholarship fund.
