Deirdre DeEtta Lowe was born a precious gift to this world on September 26, 1937. She was received into the arms of her Heavenly Father on December 7, 2018.
Deirdre was the first born child to Velma and Kenneth Jacobs, Sarcoxie, Missouri. She graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1955 and married Jimmie Dale Lowe on October 7, 1955 at First Baptist Church, Sarcoxie. Deirdre and Jim lived in Kansas City, Missouri, until 1964 when they returned to Sarcoxie to raise their daughters, DaleEtta and Pamela.
Deirdre has always enjoyed sharing her faith and was known to do so through her love of singing, testimony, teaching and lay ministry. Her radiant smile and loving touch were the gifts given to those blessed to know her. She was retired from Sarcoxie Schools where she had worked as an office clerk at the high school and secretary to the Special Education department.
Most recently, Deirdre resided in Republic, Missouri, with DaleEtta and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Republic. She served as a greeter for Sunday morning worship and enjoyed the activities of the senior adult Sunday school and bible studies.
Deirdre was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was graceful and loving, forgiving and affectionate. She prayed fervently for her family and for their salvation, desiring all to know the joy and peace she had found in her relationship with Jesus.
She is survived by her daughters, DaleEtta Lowe of Republic and Pamela Hasselbring (Chris) of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Jeremy Hood (Cassie) of Bolivar, Jennifer Tran (Alan) of Springfield, Adam Russell (Angelica) of Avondale, Arizona, Angela Schuber (Daman) of Joplin and Cody Hasselbring of Addis, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Brenten Hood (Morgan), Gavin Hood, Alex Gilbert, Severina Gallo, Isabella Schuber, Asa Schuber, Mia Schuber, Addis Schuber, Ashton Russell and Abigail Russell; great-great-grandchild, Case Hood; and her adoring sister, Carolyn Ledbetter, of Sarcoxie.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2018, in the chapel of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, with Pastor Denny Marr officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Hood, Brenten Hood, Gavin Hood, Cody Hasselbring and Daman Schuber with Adam Russell and Alex Gilbert serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse in care of the funeral home.
