Jessie Cleveland

Jessie D. Cleveland, 66, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Jessie was born March 20, 1954 in Carthage to Frank and Lela “Patrick” Cleveland. 

He drove a truck for Bart’s Garage and also drove a truck delivering feed to several locations in the area. He was a member of Harvest Community Church in Avilla. 


Jessie was a man of many talents; he made rings, worked with wood, hunted and fished, played the banjo, mandolin and bass guitar.







Jessie was united in marriage to Linda “Parker” on January 21, 1977 in Carthage; she survives.

Jessie is survived by three sons, Jerry Foiles (Teresa) of Avilla, Garrett Cleveland of Sarcoxie and Gerald Cleveland (Rachel) of Sarcoxie; two brothers, Charles Cleveland of Carthage and Carl Cleveland of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Marie Cleveland of Carthage and Ellen Cox of Corpus Christi, TX; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Jessie was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Jack.

Jessie will be cremated, with a family service to will be held at a later date.
