Mike Jarrell

Mike Jarrell, age 71, of Wentworth, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his home.

He was born April 15, 1949 in Tulare, California, the baby of six children to B.C. and Mary (Bullard) Jarrell, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, B.C. Jr., Jarry and Pat; two sisters, Lottie and Loretta and two grandchildren, Trina Krachey and Joshua Krachey.

Mike received his education in California and entered the United States Army at the age of seventeen. While in the military he married Mary and to this union one son, Paul Brian was born. 

On February 3, 1971 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Shirley Blackburn, who survives.






 

Also surviving are one son, Paul Jarrell of Monett, Missouri; two step-daughters, Vonnie Thornton and her husband Michael of North Carolina and Yavette Krachey and Ted Metcalf of Riverside, California; a sister-in-law, Bertha Jarrell of Bakersfield, California; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike met Shirley in California and they both became barbers, working at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. Eventually they moved to Missouri. They were both on the road as truck drivers for several years for United Van Lines. A few years ago Mike donated a kidney to one of his brothers. Some of his favorite pastimes were collecting knives, hunting and fishing.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Mike.
