(From Parker Mortuary)Cynthia “Cyndie” Kay Stout Agius, age 63, Joplin, formerly of Petaluma, California, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Cyndie was born July 15, 1957 in Joplin, daughter of the late Jesse Willard Stout and Betty Lou (Cossins) Stout.
She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Parkwood High School in 1975. She worked for several years with Harding Lawson Associates working with the EPA in Marin County, California before retiring in 2009. She returned to Joplin in 2013.
Cynthia was always the life of the party, the “hostess with the mostess” making anyone who entered her home feel welcomed. She was known for being a huge prankster with her friends and family. She loved all of her pet dogs she had over the years, and her daughters claimed she was a wonderful cook, especially with baking. In her younger years she was a talented artist known for her caricature drawings of her friends and family. She was a loving and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Stout.
Survivors include her daughters, Stacey M. Carter (Justin) of Petaluma, California, Carly Kay Agius (Gerhard Heilmann) of Santa Rosa, California; grandchildren, Anniston Klemme, Frankie Carter, Johnny Carter, and Otto Agius Heilmann; sister, Joy Stout Monahan (Mike) of Joplin; her partner and companion, Greg Holt of Joplin; many close friends from her working years in California, and in Joplin from kindergarten through high school, including close friend, Kelly Coiner.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Joplin.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
