Edd Peterson

Carl Edward “Edd” Peterson, age 87, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 7:56 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born January 7, 1934, in Reeds, Missouri, the son of Carl and Lula Belle (Goodson) Peterson.

Edd was a 1951 graduate of Sarcoxie High School, in Sarcoxie, Missouri. He worked for the Juvenile Shoe Company in Aurora, for 42 years. 

He loved seeing and spending time with his family and being outside working in the garden. Edd oversaw the Farmers Market in Aurora for several years where he became known as the peach and tomato man. He was an avid blood donor and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Aurora.








On February 15, 1953, he married Alice Irene Brewer, in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on April 22, 2017.

Edd is survived by two daughters, Joyce Isabelle and her husband, Larry, and Nancy Sawyer and her husband, Chris, all of Aurora; two sons, Floyd Peterson and his wife, Kathy, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and John Peterson of Aurora; sister-in-law, Doris Aubrey of Somerton, Arizona; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Edd was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lula Belle; wife, Alice; one sister, Arlene Lance and her husband, Gene, and one brother, Gene Peterson and his wife, Pat.

A visitation will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.

Memorial donations may be made payable to the Southside Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
