Marc Womack

Marc Womack, age 49, of Joplin passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Mr. Womack was born on July 8, 1971 in San Angelo, TX. He grew up and attended school in Joplin graduating from Joplin High School. 

He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Stephaine Reynolds on March 5, 1990. He then attended Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology graduating in 1992. He was currently employed as Director of Operations for Autotronics, Inc. in Joplin where he began his working career at the age of fourteen. 








 Marc had a strong work ethic and was known for his natural ability to “fix or repair” just about anything. He also believed in service and helping his community which he was able to do as an Eagle Scout and then as a Scout Master of St. Mary’s Troup 17. He was a Master Naturalist and was able to share his love of nature and science with all of Joplin following the 2011 Joplin tornado when he and his family planted trees in the community. Marc was a family man. He enjoyed times spent with family, but most of all he enjoyed the times spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Stephaine Womack, of Joplin; one son, Ryan Womack, and his fiancé, Barbara Carter, of Delaware; one daughter, Mercedes Brogan, and her husband, Anthony, of Joplin; his mother, Julia Womack, of Joplin; one brother, John Womack, of Kansas City; two sisters, Kristi Womack of New York, and Jeanie Womack, of Joplin; five grandchildren, George Womack, Zayne Brogan, Gabriel Womack, Genevieve Womack, and Bentley Brogan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin with private family committal of ashes to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 9:00 am until service time on Saturday at St. Mary’s.
