Robert Kesler

Robert Hughes Kesler of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, OK. He was 90.

Robert was born November 28, 1930 in Independence, KS to Lawrence and Neva (Hollhand) Kesler. He had lived in Quapaw since 1967 moving from Wichita, KS. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Robert was a public school teacher and coach, he was at Quapaw Schools for 8 years, Wichita, KS Schools for 5 years and Seneca Schools for 24 years. He was a member of the VFW in Miami, OK and Baxter Springs, KS, Missouri State Teachers Association, Korean War Veterans Association and Warren’s Branch Baptist Church in Hornet, MO.








Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Quinton Kesler, Harry Kesler and Gordon Kesler and 2 sisters, Barbara Goodwin and JoAnn Kerby.

Robert married Karen (Mulvaney) Kesler December 26, 1962 and she survives of the home. 

Additional survivors include 1 son, Tim Kesler of Seneca, MO, 1 daughter, Joy Bechtel and husband Randy of Monett, MO, 5 grandchildren Brandy McMahan, Krisy Anderson, Grant Hicks, Robbie Kesler and Heather Paquett – Kesler and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Warren’s Branch Baptist Church in Hornet, MO. Rev. Wendell Brown will officiate. Interment will 2:00 p.m. March 16, 2021 at Mound Valley Cemetery in Mound Valley, KS with military rites conducted the by Parsons, KS V.F.W. Post.
