Debbie Montemurro

Mary Deborah Kay (Westhoff) Montemurro “Debbie”, 67, of Frontenac, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

She was born April 19, 1953 at Pittsburg, Kansas the daughter of James Bernard and Colleen Marie (Deruy) Westhoff. She graduated from Colgan High School in 1971. Debbie lived in the Tulsa/Muskogee area for 25 years before moving back to Pittsburg in 1999 to take care of her mother, Colleen.

On December 7, 2002, she was united in marriage to Tommie Montemurro at Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2013.








Mrs. Montemurro worked in Human Resources for several companies and was a hairdresser for 10 years also.

Membership was held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Pittsburg District. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she wasn’t enjoying her family, she loved to go out to eat and shop with her friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Jameson and her husband, Jeremy of Frontenac, Kansas; a grandson, Austin Carpenter; a great-granddaughter, Cheyenne both of Frontenac, Kansas; two step-daughters, Tammy Pinley and her husband, John and children, Tyler and Jake of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Jannette Lykins and her husband, Kelly and children, Mariah, Haiden and Morgan of Bixby, Oklahoma; two great-step granddaughters, Gwendolyn and Hudson; two step sons, Cole Jameson and Mason Jameson both of Frontenac, Kanas; two brothers, John Westhoff and his wife, Kelly of Greenwood, Missouri and Danny Westhoff of Joplin, Missouri; a sister, Rebecca Stansberry and her husband, Larry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; multiple nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.


A Rosary will be prayed at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (March 20th) with a memorial graveside service to follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Frontenac. Burial will follow in the services. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery. Following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life held. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday to sign the register book at the Brenner Mortuary. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
