Rose Eagleson

Rose Lorene Eagleson, 96, formerly of Columbus, KS died March 25, 2021 at the Barone Care Center in Nevada, MO.

Rose was born October 27, 1924 in Columbus, KS to Langdon Samuel Heavin and Lola Francis Dowdy Heavin. She attended a country school before transferring to high school in Columbus.

She married Jack Lowe Eagleson August 14, 1941 and they made their home near Baxter Springs, KS until they moved to Columbus. Rose was a bookkeeper at the Ford dealership in Columbus until she and husband moved to Overland Park, KS in 1961. There she became business manager of Classen Morse Chevrolet in Overland Park and worked there until her retirement. 








At that time Rose and Jack returned to their home town of Columbus. Rose enjoyed reading, crocheting and weekly get togethers with her sisters for lunch and always a "Pepsi" break. She enjoyed her grand children and loved hearing about them.

Survivors include her daughter Virginia (Gary) Marquardt of Nevada, daughter in law Marcia Eagleson, also of Nevada, sister in law Amy Heavin, Warrensburg, MO, grandchildren; Jane Goade (Scott), Carl Junction, MO, Steve Marquardt (Karen), Nevada, Tammy Claypool, Ft Scott, KS and Russell Eagleson (Kristi O'Brien), Ft Wayne, IN; Great grandchildren; Paige Bordewick (Luke), Carl Junction, MO, Allison Drummond (Kyzer Thiessen), Joplin, MO, Brock Marquardt, Logan Marquardt, Gannon Marquardt, all of Nevada, Zane Claypool, Cole Claypool, Katlyn Claypool, Molly Claypool, Sadie Claypool, all of Richards, MO, Olivia Eagleson, El Paso, TX, and one great-great grandson, Ace Bordewick, Carl Junction, MO.

Graveside services will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Tuesday March 30, 2021 at 3:00pm. Memorials are suggested to the “Barone Activity Fund”, 2101 N Ash Nevada, MO. 

Arrangements are being handled by the Bath Naylor Funeral Home, Columbus, KS.
