(From Simpson Funeral Home)Mary Margaret Welsh age 96 of Joplin, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 13, 2021. She was born to Clarence and Erma Whetstone on February 4, 1925 in Joplin.
Mary worked at Southwestern Bell starting out as an operator and moving her way up into management. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Dana Wood of Joplin; grandchildren, Stacy Wood of Joplin, Nathalie Thorson (Tom) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Nikki Goins (Lori) of Webb City; great grandchildren, Maryssa Storm of Joplin, Trenton Mayben and Jaxon Mayben both of Webb City; and a sister, Janie Patrick of Joplin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Burial will follow services at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin.
