Mickey Chapman

(From Parker Mortuary)

Isabel Maxine “Mickey” Chapman, age 94, Joplin, passed away quietly on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mickey was born August 29, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri, daughter of the late Alfred A. Gamble and Lena E. (Buckner) Gamble.

She grew up in Springfield where she graduated from Central High School. Mickey (as she was known to all) married Wallace “Wally” Chapman in September of 1945, he preceded her in death in April of 1979.

Mickey always enjoyed life to the fullest. She would never turn down a chance to dance nor would she ever divulge her age. She could always light up the room and bring smiles with her antics.

Survivors include her son, Mike Chapman (Twyla), daughter, Kimie Kay (Jim); grandson and two step grandsons, and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson.

She has been a resident of Webb City Health and Rehab for over 10 years where she was their senior resident. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Webb City Health and Rehab, and also to the staff and Doctors of Avalon Hospice for all their care and help.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Joe Morris officiating, and family serving as pallbearers.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association care of Parker Mortuary.
