Glynn Sanders

Glynn Sanders was born May 10, 1935 in Tracy City, Grundy County, Tennessee, one of three sons to Grover Cleveland and Rosa Myrtle (Parks) Sanders. He entered into rest on March 15, 2021 in Neosho, surrounded by his family at the age of 85. 

Glynn served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, 1953-1957. Following his honorable discharge, he obtained his GED, Bachelors, Masters and Specialists degrees in Education. 

 
He began his teaching career at Gridley, Kansas in 1961, teaching history and coaching football for one year and then taught at Washburn, Missouri for five years and served as principal. 








In 1968, the family relocated to Neosho where Glynn taught until his retirement in 1995. 

Following his retirement from public school, he worked in law enforcement and obtained his degree in criminology and retired from the Sheriff's office. 

Glynn was a published author and continued writing up until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a member of ATA, VFW, MSTA, DAV, NCSD Reserves, MJA, NCIA and IEA. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Neosho. 

Glynn and Betty M. Jordan were married on December 21, 1953 in Muskogee, Oklahoma and she survives. 

In addition to his wife of 67 years, Glynn is survived by three children, Glynda (John) Ball of Neosho, Yvonne McClintock of Neosho and James Glynn (Patricia) Sanders of Neosho; six grandchildren, July Livingston of Arizona, Matthew Ball of Neosho, Joshua Ball of Sarcoxie, Amanda Sullivan, State of Washington, Philip McClintock of Ottawa, Kansas and Kenny Sanders of Neosho and sixteen great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Sanders and James Sanders.
