Sandy Duckett

Sandra Dee Duckett, 58, of Pierce City, Missouri, passed away on March 17, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.

Sandy was born January 1, 1963 in Salem, Oregon to the late Earl Duckett and Joan (Lawson) Duckett. She was raised in the Joplin area and graduated from Webb City High School in 1981, before moving to Pierce City, Missouri.


Sandy was passionate about her three boys and their commitment to proudly serve in the United States Army. She volunteered as President to each of the boys’ Family Readiness Groups, managing a team that encouraged cohesion between soldiers and families, as well as facilitated all unit and family gatherings. 








 Sandy was also largely responsible for coordination of the Howdy Neighbor Days festival in Pierce City for over a decade, a dedication to community that earned multiple awards from her city and county.

Sandy had an angelic voice she loved sharing with others. She performed at festivals, rodeos, several shows in Branson, and the annual Cerebral Palsy Telethon in Joplin. She enjoyed antiquing, classic country music and spending time with her beloved dogs. Sandy was loved by many and will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.

Sandy is survived by her three sons, Nathan Wilson, Matt Wilson, and Jeremy Chapman; her eleven grandchildren, Dylan, Ava, Asher, Owen, Mason, Mallory, Madison, Mackenzie, Blane, Eli, and Kimber; brother, John Duckett; sister, Debbie Sargent; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Monett with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday evening, March 25, 2021 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, in Joplin, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
