Jackie Barton

Mrs. Jackie Lou Barton, 62, of Southwest City, Missouri, departed this life on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, from complications of a massive heart attack.

Jackie entered this life on January 5, 1959, in Neosho, Missouri, born to the late James Nathan and Twila Nadine (Taylor) Martin. She was raised and attended school in Anderson, Missouri and was a lifelong resident of McDonald County. 


On October 14, 1973, she was united in marriage to David Barton, Sr. and together they shared the last forty-seven years. 








Besides being a devoted homemaker, Jackie worked at various poultry plants in Southwest City, Noel and Neosho. She enjoyed playing games on her phone and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She was a member of Oak Chapel Church.

Her parents and a grandson, Paco Gonzalez, preceded her in death.

Jackie is survived by her husband, David Barton, Sr. of the home; five children, Tammra Barton of Anderson, Michelle Sixkiller and husband, Derrik, of Grove, David Barton, Jr. and wife, Anna, of Rocky Comfort, Jacqueline Mitchell and husband, Mitch, of Southwest City and Gayla Gonzalez and husband, Alfonso, also of Southwest City; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jamie Martin and Jeff Martin both of Anderson; four sisters, Joyce Law of Anderson, Colleen Epperson of Neosho, Betty Zumwalt of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Martha Zimmerman of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Darrin Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Saratoga Springs Cemetery in Southwest City. 

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are David Barton, Jr., Derrik Sixkiller, Mitch Mitchell, Alfonso Gonzalez, Eric Munoz, Cordale Barton, Jorge Gonzalez and Delton Sixkiller.
